The Best Bible Verses About Trust To Restore Our Lives

Trust is crucial to have in relationships, work and family settings. It’s also important for our practice of worship. Without trust, we can begin to doubt ourselves, others and even God. Let’s dive into our best Bible verses about trust to renew our faith and restore our lives.

Best Bible Verses About Trust

Jeremiah 17:7-8 – “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him”

Starting at the top of our list, Jeremiah 17:7-8 is a beautiful verse with a simple reminder. Trust in the Lord.

It’s far too easy to focus on the feelings of mistrust. Whether you have suspicions about your partner, your boss or a family member, we must always trust God.

He has a plan for us. Sometimes it can feel like He’s making us work for that plan.

We are presented a series of challenges each day. We must first place our trust in the Lord, that His path is the best one for us.

Once we being trusting God’s plan, we will find ourselves trusting other situations as well.

Psalm 56:4 – “In God, whose word I praise — in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”

One of my personal favorite verses is Psalm 56:4. The message rings true. What can mere mortals do to me?

Of course, life is full of disappointment. The new job didn’t work out. The ‘honeymoon’ phase of the relationship is over.

Whatever your circumstance may be, it’s God, who I trust. By trusting our Lord and Savior, we can be shielded by the negative conflicts that life brings.

Yes, we will still get hurt. But God is always with us. He’s always supporting and watching over us. By placing our trust onto Him, we start truly living.

James 1:6 – “But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind”

A stark reminder for us is the negative impact of doubting. The more time we spend doubting everything around us, the more our mind is flustered.

When the mind is too preoccupied with doubt, our internal energy suffers.

James 1:6 is our calling to push the doubt aside, place our trust in God, and get on with our day.

The power of the words ‘blown and tossed by the wind’ is a perfect metaphor for not trusting.

We simply cannot control what others will do onto us. However, we can meet each day with the best version of ourselfs.

This is accomplished when we rise, give thanks to the Lord, and place our full trust within Him.

Proverbs 29:25 – “Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe”

In our Daily Proverbs devotional, trust is a common theme. Without it, we are nothing.

We also can’t claim to be superhuman, and anticipate all negative outcomes.

This causes far too much worrying. Instead, Proverbs 29:25 reminds us to fear not. We will be safe.

The ticket to be free from trust issues, is to be firmly rooted in your faith.

This does not mean we won’t have bad days. But when we do, the pain will be lessened when we know God is rooting for us.

1 John 4:1 – “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world”

This is an excellent verse to conclude our list on.

1 John 4:1 is an eloquent verse about it being okay to have your reservations about a person or situation.

This does not mean we should blindly trust everything. But to be cautiously optimistic.

For God will always present the path forward. He will always show us what we need to see. If a person is deceiving you, it will come out in time.

We can learn from every situation, good or bad.

By sticking to God’s plan (fully trusting in it), we can live in peace. We can meet negative situations with a fresh outlook devoid of negative emotions.

Summary

Trust is difficult to master. It helps when we concede that we will not master it. Instead, we can choose to focus on trusting God.

He put us on this earth for a reason. When we begin to doubt ourselves, others or even the Lord, we stray from our intended path.

Regaining our faith and trust in God, will lend its hand to trusting others. By doing so, we can treat others as they deserve to be treated.

We can also be assured that even if others let us down, we can rely on God to help us get back on track.
