Daily Bible Verse on How to Break Bad Habits

We’re back with a Daily Bible Verse on how to break bad habits. I have a new book releasing soon titled: Ditch the Desire: 90 Days to Overcome Adult Content, releasing soon. This Daily Bible Verse is an excerpt from my upcoming title!

Daily Bible Verse for Dec. 29 & Dec. 30

Genesis 22:1

Sometime later, God tested Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!” God called. “Yes,” he replied. “Here I am.”

Our faith will be tested. And if you’re like me, you may find it being tested daily. That’s part of God’s plan.

He tests us to see how much progress we are making. He also likes to show us how far we’ve come through His wisdom. When I feel like I’m being tested, I always like to stop and take a breath before acting. I sometimes think to myself, “will this action benefit me in some way?” Or, “will this action cause harm to myself or my quest on becoming a better person?”

Sometimes all it takes is a few moments for us to recollect our thoughts before we’re back on God’s path. In today’s world, with social media, political division, etc., there will be more tests than ever. The devil will always want to “hi-jack” your mind and take you away from your path.

I am grateful that God is always watching. I like to check in with Him at least twice daily through prayer. Lately, I’ve been praying about what I am grateful for in my life. I still ask Him for strength and patience most of the time. But, showing Him that I am grateful for what I already have, makes me feel more at ease.

Another thing that’s been helping me lately is taking walks outside. For some reason, my plate feels more full than ever with stress. It’s work related and some personal life things, but getting outside and getting some steps in always helps.

Sometimes on my walks, I like to pray and reflect on what’s going well and what’s not in my life. This always brings me some comfort and peace, even when things feel dark.

Thanks for reading today’s daily Bible verse. For more check out the last post here.
